Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force

Formed in 1986, the focus of the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force is to identify and target for disruption and dismantlement organized crime groups and individuals involved in significant criminal activity affecting member agency jurisdictions with a specific emphasis on those involved in drug trafficking with operational response to violent incidents in the community through the employment of the Crisis Response Team (CRT).

Laurence McLaughlin , Commander
Laurence McLaughlin is the Commander of the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force (MVLETF). Commander McLaughlin has been in law enforcement since 1999 working for the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office. Commander McLaughlin has been assigned to the MVLETF since 2003. He has been an investigator, K-9 handler, supervisor and since 2018 the Commander of the MVLETF. Commander McLaughlin is a graduate of the 280th Session of the FBI National Academy, Drug Unit Commander’s Academy (DEA), OPOTA certified instructor for Basic Academy and Corrections Academy along with being an Instructional Skills Instructor. Commander McLaughlin currently serves as vice president of the Ohio Task Force Association.
