Greater Warren County Drug Task Force
The Greater Warren County Drug Task Force is a multi-jurisdictional task force specializing in the investigation of drug trafficking, prescription drug diversion, money laundering and other drug related crimes. Our primary area of operation is all of Warren County and the City of Wilmington in Clinton County. Our task force is an initiative of the Ohio High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), and we are located in southwest Ohio, between Dayton and Cincinnati. The Greater Warren County Drug Task Force includes personnel from various local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to include the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office, Franklin Police Department, Hamilton Township Police Department, Lebanon Police Department, Monroe Police Department, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), Springboro Police Department, Wilmington Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Ohio National Guard – Counter Drug Unit, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
This collaboration of resources results in a better coordinated effort to address all levels of drug trafficking and abuse, with a concentrated effort toward mid to upper level offenders. Our specialized drug enforcement services include a team of detectives & agents with advanced training in the area of covert law enforcement operations. This team uses a variety of techniques and tactics to target those involved in drug trafficking activities in our community. Also serving our jurisdiction is a fulltime detective specializing in the investigation of prescription drug diversion crimes, as well as a uniform interdiction team patrolling our roadways, and interstate highways.
We are fortunate to have such a diverse and talented team of law enforcement professionals working to reduce the supply of illegal drugs in our jurisdiction. Major Steve Arrasmith, Commander
Major Steve Arrasmith is the Commander of the Greater Warren County Drug Task Force. He began his full-time law enforcement career in 1992 as a uniform deputy sheriff with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. He was promoted to the rank of Major in 2015 and continues to serve the Warren County Sheriff’s Office as the Investigations Division Commander. His command includes the Greater Warren County Drug Task Force and the Investigations Section of the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Major Arrasmith has spent the majority of his career as a detective and detective supervisor, with over 23 years of task force operational experience.
He is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a graduate of the FBI National Academy, DEA Drug Unit Commanders Academy and the Police Executive Leadership College. Major Arrasmith was previously honored as the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Sheriff of the Year and is also a past recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Narcotics Association of Regional Coordinating Officers (NARCO). Major Arrasmith currently serves as the southwest district representative for the Ohio Task Force Commanders Association.
